State and National Director's Conference

State Director's Meetings and National CASA Conference

CASA of Chautauqua County has support from both state and national affiliations that offer regular trainings and conferences.

During the Spring 2015 State Director's Conference, state directors had the opportunity to advocate as a group at the state capitol. Assemblyman, Andy Goodell joined CASA in supporting legislation to directly assist family court efforts to promote the health, safety and well-being of children.

CASA Legislation

Court Appointed Special Advocates from across New York State lobbied at the state capitol in March 2016 for support of the CASA bill. The bill enables legislation to codify the CASA program.
This helps to make clear the Legislature's support for the program and provides a consistent interpretation of CASA's role within the family court system while strengthening CASA's standing in its important work on behalf of abused and neglected children in the State's foster care system.

We are grateful for the many people who supported this bill including Assemblymen Goodell in Chautauqua County, Assemblyman Ryan in Erie County and Senator Gallivan. Click on the link below to learn more about the CASA bill.
