CASA Legislation
Court Appointed Special Advocates from across New York State lobbied at the state capitol in March 2016 for support of the CASA bill. The bill enables legislation to codify the CASA program. This helps to make clear the Legislature's support for the program and provides a consistent interpretation of CASA's role within the family court system while strengthening CASA's standing in its important work on behalf of abused and neglected children in the State's foster care system.
We are grateful for the many people who supported this bill including Assemblymen Goodell in Chautauqua County, Assemblyman Ryan in Erie County and Senator Gallivan. Click on the link below to learn more about the CASA bill.
